Our counter service offers guests a more casual way to experience The Lost Kitchen while maintaining the same care, warmth, and attention to detail found throughout all aspects of the business.
We are seeking Counter Servers to provide welcoming, attentive service while supporting the daily operations of our counter and takeaway service.
Responsibilities include greeting guests, taking food and beverage orders, preparing simple counter items, processing transactions, and ensuring orders are accurate and presented with care. The role also includes maintaining a clean and organized counter and dining area, restocking supplies, assisting with light food preparation, and supporting the broader team during busy service periods.
Previous hospitality, café, or retail experience is preferred. The ideal candidate is friendly, efficient, and detail-oriented, with strong communication skills and the ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.

ASSISTANT BAKER
At the Lost Kitchen, seasonality, simplicity, and craft guide everything we do. Our pastries, biscuits, cookies and desserts reflect the same care and precision that define our kitchen.
We are seeking an Assistant Baker to support daily pastry production for café service, events, and retail offerings.
Responsibilities include scaling and mixing doughs, batters, fillings and frostings, shaping and proofing breads, and baking off pastries for service. The role requires working efficiently while precisely following recipes, carefully monitoring baking times and temperatures, and ensuring consistent product quality. Additional duties include assisting with inventory organization and management, and maintaining a clean, well-organized workspace in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Prior bakery or pastry experience is preferred, however we are happy to train the right person. The ideal candidate takes direction well, demonstrates strong attention to detail, works with urgency, and adapts quickly in a dynamic environment. A readiness to step in wherever needed—whether mixing dough, shaping cookies, or helping with dishes—is essential. The role involves early morning shifts and requires the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

LINE COOK
At the Lost Kitchen, our cooking is guided by seasonality, restraint, and respect for exceptional ingredients sourced from nearby farms and producers.
We are seeking Line Cooks to join our kitchen team for the season. This role is responsible for executing dishes with precision, consistency, and attention to detail in a focused, high-standard environment.
Responsibilities include preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes, managing mise en place and station organization, executing service with proper timing and communication, and ensuring each plate meets The Lost Kitchen’s standards for flavor and presentation. The role also includes completing prep lists, maintaining a clean workstation, and following food safety and sanitation guidelines.
2+ years of professional kitchen experience is preferred. The ideal candidate has strong knife skills, solid cooking fundamentals, and the ability to remain calm and organized during busy service while working collaboratively within a tight-knit kitchen team.

KITCHEN PREP COOK
We are seeking a Kitchen Prep Cook to support daily kitchen preparation and help ensure that service begins from a place of organization and readiness.
Responsibilities include washing, cutting, and portioning vegetables and fruits, preparing stocks, sauces, and base components, assisting with protein preparation, and accurately measuring and labeling ingredients. The role also includes maintaining a clean and organized prep station, following food safety and sanitation standards, properly storing and rotating ingredients, and supporting the line as needed.
Previous kitchen experience and strong basic knife skills are preferred. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

SOUS CHEF
The Lost Kitchen is rooted in seasonal cooking, thoughtful hospitality, and a deep respect for craft. Our kitchen operates with precision, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence.
We are seeking a Sous Chef to work closely with the Chef team to lead daily kitchen operations and oversee service execution. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining the standards, systems, and culture that define The Lost Kitchen.
Responsibilities include supporting menu execution and seasonal development, leading the line during service, overseeing prep production and station readiness, and ensuring consistency in flavor, technique, and presentation. The Sous Chef also mentors and supervises kitchen staff, assists with hiring and training, manages prep lists and workflow, monitors inventory and ordering, and helps maintain food safety, sanitation, and cost awareness.
The ideal candidate has 4+ years of professional kitchen experience with leadership responsibility, strong technical cooking ability, and experience leading service in a high-standard kitchen. Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to remain composed under pressure are essential.

DISHWASHER
Back of house at the Lost Kitchen is a team that provides a seamless service built on respect, discipline, and collaboration.
We are seeking dishwashers to support the kitchen by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout service.
Responsibilities include operating commercial dishwashing equipment, washing and properly storing plates, glassware, flatware, and cookware, maintaining a steady flow of clean dishes during service, and keeping the dish station, bussing stations and kitchen areas clean and organized. The role also assists with trash and recycling, basic cleaning tasks, and supporting the kitchen team as needed.
No prior experience is required, though kitchen experience is a plus. The ideal candidate is dependable, hardworking, and comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

OFFICE MANAGER
Behind the dining room, retail shop, cabins and cafe at the Lost Kitchen is a small but highly coordinated operation — reservations, retail, cabins, events, payroll, compliance, and communications — all tightly managed and forward-moving.
We are seeking a highly organized Office Manager to oversee the administrative and operational backbone of the TLK businesses, which includes the restaurant, cafe, cabins, and retail operations. This role works closely with ownership and department heads to ensure daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities include managing office systems and communications, maintaining organized records, supporting accounts payable/receivable and payroll, coordinating with external accountants, maintaining employee documentation and seasonal hiring paperwork, and tracking licenses, permits, and compliance requirements. The role also supports administrative needs across the restaurant, retail shop, and cabins, and coordinates with vendors and service providers.
The ideal candidate has 3+ years of administrative or office management experience, strong organizational and financial skills, proficiency with accounting software and Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with discretion and attention to detail. Experience in hospitality or small business operations is a plus.

RETAIL ASSISTANT
The Lost Kitchen retail shop is an extension of the table — a thoughtfully curated collection of home + kitchen wares, dry goods, books, linens, ceramics, and items that reflect the spirit of the Lost Kitchen and the people who gather here. Every item has a story, and every interaction matters.
We are seeking a seasonal Retail Assistant to join our team for the upcoming season. This role supports the daily operations of the retail shop while helping create a welcoming and beautifully presented environment for guests visiting from near and far.
Responsibilities include greeting and assisting guests, sharing information and details behind products and artisans, processing transactions, maintaining organized, and visually compelling displays, as well as regular cleaning and dusting of retail space, restocking merchandise, and supporting inventory, packaging, and shipping needs. The role also assists with seasonal merchandising, shop organization, and special events while upholding the standards and hospitality that define The Lost Kitchen.
Retail or hospitality experience is required. The ideal candidate is warm, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

SHIPPING DEPARTMENT ASSISTANT
The Lost Kitchen online shop is an extension of the in-person retail experience at the mill. The thoughtfully curated collection of home + kitchen wares, dry goods, books, linens, ceramics, and items reflect the spirit of the Lost Kitchen and our customers and visitors. Every item has a story, and every interaction matters.
We are seeking an assistant to work in our packing and shipping department. This is a key part time position that supports our online marketplace year-round.
Responsibilities include packing and shipping online orders, creating shipping labels, pricing, receiving and tracking inventory. This role requires a strong attention to detail and a well-developed ability to multi-task and perform under pressure. Basic computer skills, and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs. required. Experience in a similar position is preferred.
WINE SHOP ASSISTANT
The Lost Kitchen is a restaurant, retail shop, and gathering place rooted in rural Maine and guided by seasonality, craftsmanship, and thoughtful hospitality. Our wine shop reflects the same philosophy — curated, intentional, and deeply personal.
We are seeking a Wine Shop Assistant to support the daily operations of our wine retail space and create a welcoming, knowledgeable experience for guests.
Responsibilities include greeting and assisting guests with wine selections, sharing knowledge about producers and regions, processing retail transactions, maintaining clean and visually appealing displays, restocking shelves, and supporting inventory organization and deliveries. The role also assists with seasonal merchandising, tastings, and ensuring compliance with state alcohol sales regulations.
An interest in wine is ideal; prior wine retail or hospitality experience is preferred however we are happy to train the right person. The ideal candidate is warm, detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced seasonal environment, with the ability to lift wine cases up to 40 lbs.

HOUSEKEEPING & CABIN SUPPORT TEAM MEMBER
The Lost Kitchen experience is rooted in craftsmanship, care, and thoughtful hospitality. From the dining room to the guest cabins, every detail reflects our belief that well-tended spaces create meaningful moments.
We are seeking Housekeeping & Cabin Support Team Members to help maintain the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of our guest cabins and property spaces throughout the season.
Responsibilities include cleaning and preparing cabins between guest stays, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, laundering, pressing and replenishing linens and amenities, managing laundry and housekeeping supplies, and ensuring each space is beautifully prepared prior to guest arrival. The role also supports light property upkeep, reports maintenance needs, and assists with seasonal opening and closing tasks.
Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience is preferred. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable with physical work, with the ability to work independently while maintaining the high standards that define The Lost Kitchen.
This is a seasonal position with part-time and full-time opportunities available, weekend availability required, and competitive hourly compensation.
GARDENER / LANDSCAPER
The Lost Kitchen is a restaurant, shop, and gathering place rooted in seasonality, craftsmanship, and community. The grounds surrounding the mill are an extension of the kitchen — gardens, pathways, and plantings that contribute to the experience our guests carry with them.
We are seeking a Gardener / Landscaper to help steward the outdoor spaces with care and intention throughout the season.
Responsibilities include maintaining perennial and annual beds, native plantings, and ornamental gardens; planting, pruning, weeding, and mulching; caring for herb and kitchen-adjacent plantings, maintaining gravel paths, and managing irrigation and watering schedules. The role also supports seasonal landscape projects, prepares grounds for events and service days, and assists with general property upkeep and seasonal cleanup.
Prior gardening or landscaping experience is preferred, along with comfort working outdoors in varied weather conditions. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, physically capable, and takes pride in maintaining beautiful and thoughtfully tended spaces.
