Ingredients

2 cups heavy cream

2 cups whole milk

1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt

3 tablespoons light brown sugar 

6 oz really good bittersweet chocolate bits

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Whipped cream and cocoa powder for serving

Combine the milk and cream in a medium saucepan. Heat gently over medium heat. Add brown sugar, salt, and chocolate. Whisk until smooth and rich in color and the mixture just begins to boil and thickens slightly, about 5-6 minutes. Remove from heat, add vanilla & stir.

Serve with a dollop of whipped cream and a dusting of cocoa powder.
